We just got her - for free! Pure bred German Shepherd girl, 10 weeks old. She has umbilical hernia - we’ll fix it when we spay her. There was a parvo scare, but she doesn’t seem to have it, and we are visiting the vet tomorrow
Her name is Ellie, short for Elise (lotus) in my mind, wife would like to think she is short for Eleanor Roosevelt. She loves our boys, and they love her back :)

She is precious. Just had her on a leash for the first time ever, and she got it right away ;)

We got these knuckleheads - Yoda and Vader - a bit more than 3 years ago. Rescues are great. And they are very good boys.

Are her ears permanently like that? Broken ears make shepherds look a lot more sympathetic in my opinion. She looks really cute!

Cute pup!
I read your comment about cop violence in another thread and I wanted to reply to you, but not in that thread.
One word, three letters: ego . Cops are trained not to set theirs aside for fear of being killed. Cops are inculcated to project absolute authority and the poor and disenfranchized reject that authority. Your observations do not make you a racist, but I think your observations are not recognizing a key difference between the folks you mention and other folks, some of whom get killed by (poorly trained) cops.
Let me put it this way: I’m a white man, 52 years old. My (white) parents all have post-graduate degrees. I could go out and break a law and be made to stand in front of a judge’s dais, and the — probably white male, but could be any gender or ethnicity — judge could wag his or her finger at me and say, “You should know better.” And they’d be 100% correct. But there are others for whom that judge would
not
be correct. Many people make the assumption that 100% of people
should
know better and this is indicative of a lack of perception that is all too casually labeled as “racist,” when race is only one factor. “Unenlightened” would be a more apt term, in my opinion.
